The Children’s Hope Center

Decorative Image

The Children’s Hope Center is our base of operations and resource center, located in Kabalagala, Kampala, Uganda. In addition to hosting our three main programs, the Children’s Hope Center also runs various after school programs that offer children the chance to play recreational sports, get help with homework, and learn how to use a computer.

Equip to Equip Program

Many of Uganda’s children face unique and severe challenges that can prevent them from becoming educated, mature, ethical adults. This puts Ugandan educators and caretakers in the unenviable position of having to help students to overcome these challenges while dealing with their mental and behavioural effects. Equip to Equip is a training program that is designed to impart to Ugandan teachers, mentors, and community leaders some of the skills necessary to cope with problematic behaviour, identify its causes, and generate effective solutions.

The Constructive Citizen Project

The CNI CONSTRUCTIVE CITIZEN PROJECT is designed for young people who have been EMPOWERED and EQUIPPED through our various programs with skills to make a meaningful contribution to society. They are encouraged to take on leadership roles and make a difference in their communities. They work both individually and/or in groups in conjunction with their local leaders, teachers, and parents/caregivers to identify the needs in the community and come up with creative solutions to meet them. Examples of past initiatives: young people have visited and worked in children’s homes, the homes of the elderly, facilitated community hygien programs, cleaned community hospitals etc.

DREAM Soccer Program

The CNI DREAM Soccer Program is made up of youths between the ages of 6-15. We developed the program to not only be exciting to the youth but also educational. Working with our program facilitators, we work to develop and promote these young talents and to use soccer as a tool to help them to appreciate who they are, support one another, shape character, and build the right life values in support of a better future.
